Laura Patton Parkhurst – Racer and Instructor
Laura began her driving career in 2003 after taking a defensive driving class followed by an autocross. That was all she needed to get hooked. She continued through HPDE, additional autocross and within two years became a certified instructor and after one more year earned her competition license.
Since then Laura has stood on the podium countless times having won or placed in races with the National Sports Association (NASA)
and VDCA (Vintage Drivers Club of America) and BMWCCA. She also currently serves as co-chief instructor with NASA-SE, a position she has filled for the past 10 years.
While she calls Road Atlanta her “home track, Laura has logged thousands of miles on race tracks throughout the country. When not ripping it up on the race track, Laura works as a Business Intelligence Lead within North/South Carolina and Carolinas Healthcare System. She says she’s “a big data nerd who runs reports and special projects related to data and statistics for outpatient healthcare locations”. And to serve her artistic side, Laura started and operates a photography business, EllCie Photography.
