Shift Up Now continues to add talented drivers spanning multiple motor-sport disciplines. We are thrilled to welcome drift racer Kelsey Rowlings to the Shift Up Now Team.
Kelsey grew up as a musician, artist, horseback rider, and overall athlete. She discovered drifting in 2007, her senior year of high school. Before leaving home to attend college at the University of Florida, she got her first car – a black 1997 Nissan 240sx.
Kelsey started drifting in 2008 and was immediately hooked to the sport. She started competing in 2012, pursuing her Formula Drift license in 2014 through the Southeast Streetwise Drift Pro-am series. After finishing 4th in the series, Kelsey went on to compete in an
“off-season” pro-am series called Three Palms Drift. She ranked 2nd in the series, was awarded a Formula Drift Pro 2 license in 2015, and went on to compete in the Pro 2 series just two months later.
Beginning the 2016 season, Kelsey and her team built a Nissan 240sx, powered by a supercharged Ford 5.0 Aluminator requiring extensive custom fabrication. While working on perfecting the car, Kelsey continued to showcase her drifting in numerous exhibition events throughout the country. Kelsey is looking forward to continuing her 2019 season in this uniquely built car as she vies for the Formula Drift Pro 2 Championship.
Kelsey also attended Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School, Bobby Orr’s stunt driving school, and Rick Seaman’s stunt driving school to further her talents behind the wheel.
