Shift Up Now continues to experience incredible momentum in the motor-sports world! We have received tremendous interest from an amazing array of inspiring and talented women racers, and our reach grows every day! Today, we are tremendously proud and honored to announce Loni Unser as our newest Shift Up Now Ambassador! Loni is a dedicated, goal-oriented racer, whose talent on track is already noteworthy. Her accomplishments, coupled with her strong desire to help the next generation of racers, are already inspiring young girls and women to enter the sport. We are excited and thrilled to have Loni on board with us! Welcome to Team Shift Up Now!
With a background in line-finding sports including ski racing, Loni Unser started racing cars in 2017 and has shown promise in NASA Rocky Mountain Spec Miata competition. She is now ready to step up to the Global MX-5 Cup for the 2020 season.
She believes in the power of positive role models and hopes to inspire young girls through her activities on and off track. The 21-year-old always makes time to talk to girls in the paddock and grandstands during race weekends, and served as a board member for the Wood River Valley chapter of Girls on the Run, a non-profit program that works to encourage pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through physical fitness.
Currently studying Environmental Design at the University of Colorado Boulder, she is on the Honor’s List while balancing the demands of her motorsport schedule. In addition to her classes, she has become involved with the CU Boulder Racing team where she is currently a driver and the social media director. She also works on the team’s competition vehicles in an effort to further develop her mechanical knowledge.
Unser continues to focus on her development as a driver and looks ahead to claiming her place in the record books. Her future plans will carry her to the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship and the storied tracks of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
