Michele Abbate is a professional racecar driver, team owner in the Trans Am series, and a 3 time road racing champion. A native to Las Vegas, Nevada she initially got her start at 16 in her local Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) autocross events and worked her way up the motorsports ladder into track days, time attack, and then on to earning her racing licenses. Michele became a factory backed driver for Scion Racing immediately after her graduation from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas (Bachelor’s degree in Communication and minor in Marketing) and established her motorsports marketing company Grr Enterprises, LLC and her race team, Grr Racing. Michele began club racing in 2013 and made her debut in the SCCA National RunOffs Championships in 2018, where she became the youngest female to earn a podium finish in the GT-1 class. Abbate made her international debut when she raced in the Bathurst 6 Hour endurance race at the iconic Mount Panorama in Bathurst, Australia. Additionally, with multiple championship and race wins she became the first female to be awarded the Lindley Bothwell Driver of the Year Award (2015) in Cal Club’s 66 years of existence. In 2019, Abbate’s championship winning Grr Racing Scion FRS replica RC racecar hit hobby store shelves globally. Currently Michele is racing in the 2019 Trans Am West Coast series and is the highest ranking first-year rookie, sitting in 6th for overall Championship points.
